“Nothing’s Impossible!” — Kevin Garnett
Kevin Garnett wanted to be an NBA champion. People around him told him he would never make it to the NBA because of the boulders in his path. This included his mother, who believed he would be better suited for social work. But Garnett had a dream, and unstoppable determination, and kept his eye on the prize: an NBA championship.
As Garnett continued his quest for the NBA, another boulder rolled in his path: He was accused of a criminal act and arrested, but he beat the odds.
Garnett was back on his quest, yet another boulder rolled in his path. In order to go to a Division I college, athletes must achieve a certain score on the SAT. On his first attempt at the test, he scored below the guidelines. However, he didn’t give up. He took the exam over and over until he passed. Finally, his resiliency transformed his struggle. In 2008 Garnett was in the middle of the Forum, enjoying His Victory as an NBA champion.
